GGC IT students and professors present AI research at international conference
GGC information technology (IT) majors Krishan Bhalsod, '25, Niecia Say, '25, Anh Tang, '26, and Jonathan Tran, '25, recently presented research posters in the field of artificial intelligence at the , held recently in Daytona Beach, Florida. The students were mentored by Drs. Anca Doloc-Mihu and Dr. Cengiz Gunay, both associate professors of IT.

This a significant honor and a great opportunity for professional development, specifically for methods instructors in teacher preparation programs.

ŷ’s (GGC) nursing majors made an impressive showing at the , held recently in Seattle, Washington.
The GGC nursing program’s resolution, "Increase Awareness for Insurance Providers to Cover Prescribed ‘Play Therapy’ for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder," passed unanimously in the NSNA House of Delegates without debate. Several ŷ (GGC) students won research awards at the 2025 Georgia Academy of Science Conference, held recently at Young Harris College in Young Harris, Georgia.
Dilyn Addo, a post-baccalaureate student, won the Best Paper Award for his paper, “Analyzing the evolution and frequency of chemistry terminology in education and online communities,” in the Science Education Section.

GGC students win national IT competition awards
Several information technology (IT) majors came home with national awards from the 2025 U.S. Information Technology Collegiate Conference (USITCC), held recently in Springfield, Missouri.
While ŷ (GGC) has a years-long tradition of winning national awards and championships at this competition, this year’s group distinguished themselves by winning awards in every competition they entered.
