Introducing CTE’s online teacher training program and information session

Program description
- The has spent the past year developing the Foundations of Online Education program for faculty who teach online at Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. This program is designed to enhance faculty effectiveness in online courses while also meeting regulatory and accreditation requirements.
The course is fully asynchronous and consists of modules covering:
- Effective video creation
- Effective course organizationÂ
- Regular and substantive interaction
- Online community building
- Maintaining academic integrityÂ
- Active learning online
Each module includes a brief video, a quiz, supplemental materials and a practical application assignment. The course is expected to take between 2-4 hours to complete.
Timeline
Information session – 10 a.m. May 12,  2025
The CTE will hold an online information session 10 a.m. Monday, May 12, via . This session will provide an overview of the program and an opportunity for faculty to ask questions.Â
Beta testing – May 2025
The course will undergo beta testing in May with a small group of faculty. If you are interested in participating, email CTE Faculty Fellow for Online Education, Josh Morris, at @email.
Course available to all faculty – September 2025
Starting in September, the course will be open to all interested faculty. A formal announcement will be made at that time with instructions on how to enroll.
Course requirement for online teaching – Spring 2026
Beginning in spring 2026, faculty must complete this course to be eligible to teach online.
